Our Mission
The mission of HomeShare Oregon is to expand access to affordable housing through homesharing. We believe that this is a direct way to prevent housing instability, foreclosure, and homelessness.

We envision a world in which every person has a clean, safe home; a world where homesharing is normalized as a lifestyle preference and homelessness is uprooted.
Our Story
Founded in 2021, HomeShare Oregon is working hard to change the cultural norm around homesharing.
We see homesharing as an immediate solution to our affordable housing crisis. Connecting home providers who have space to share with renters seeking affordable housing is a common sense, immediately available response to prevent housing instability.
HomeShare Oregon has three priority goals:
To culturally normalize homesharing.
Homesharing is a common sense solution to one of our society’s greatest challenges.To increase direct services to seniors.
Seniors are the fastest growing homeless population in the state, with women and BIPOC communities at the greatest risk of becoming displaced. What’s more, sharing a home provides seniors with companionship, financial resilience, an increased sense of security, and an opportunity to age in place.To pass initiatives at the state and federal levels that incentivize homesharing.
HomeShare Oregon supports home providers and renters throughout the homesharing process. We also advocate for homesharing as a necessary and viable solution to Oregon’s affordable housing crisis.
By providing education, tools, resources, and support to interested homesharers, we effectively create another affordable housing option.
